Do you know Beverly Brooks who went to Emmaus in Oak Park Illinois in l972-73. I went to college with her and just thought you might be related since she served in the Phlliipines as well as her folks…

    1. Hi Donna,

What an interesting coincidence with the name and place, but no, I do not know a Beverly Brooks. It is a small world though, I am always surprised at the connections I have encountered over the years. I hope you are having a good day, and thanks for stopping by! Love, Philippa.

Hello Philippa, you probably won’t remember me. My name is Sharon Sloan (nee Laverty) I was a leader at a youth camp in Yorkshire in 1993. Pastor Jim Lyons was in charge with his wife Hilda. It was there you told us that God had called you into his service. I attend the Portadown IMC, where I have been youth leader for about 25 years . Sorry for the long introduction but we are about to commence our children’s meeting ‘The Followers’ and we always have a missionary focus. This year our collection will be going to you, Danny and your family. I have taken some photos of the internet to display for our boys and girls. We will also be praying for you on a regular basis. P.s I have enjoyed reading your stories on your website. May God richly bless you all in the days that are ahead. Maybe when you are back home again you will be able to visit our children’s meeting. Sharon.
